Tired of nails that never grow – or go off as soon as they get length? Here are valuable tips for naturally healthy and beautiful nails.
File the nails, and use a glass file.
File nails regularly, keeping them healthy. When the nail is thinner on the top, it becomes quite fragile. File and the nail will stay strong longer – and thus get the chance to get a length. A glass file is more gentle on the nail than a regular file and is also easier to keep clean, as it can be rinsed off. Also, avoid cutting the nails.
Use base coat and overcoat.
Before painting the nails – invest in base coat and overcoat. A base coat protects the nail and reduces the risk of discoloration. An overcoating smooth out any irregularities makes the paint last longer and gives a glossy finish.
Nourish the nail cuticles and do not paint them.
Soap and water wipe out your nail bands. Do not forget to oil them daily. It increases the circulation and promotes the growth of the nail. Did you know that you should never paint directly on the nail bands? Place the brush a bit above. It makes the lacquer last longer, and you avoid clogging the nail bands.
Scrub instead of picking.
It’s gross when you have dirt under the nails, but avoid using nail picks. It tears the nail and makes it harder for it to grow. Especially if you pile with sharp objects, such as your nail. When cleaning under the nail, scrub with a nail brush instead.
Throw the acetone bottle.
Do you have a bottle of acetone in the bathroom cabinet? Throw it right away. Acetone is harsh and causes the nail to lose its natural luster. You wouldn’t want your nails to dry out and chip badly. Choose an acetone-free remover instead.
